SAILING CROSS 0°00'00" IN RIAU ISLANDS

This year Neptune Regatta which is the only Cross Equator sailing event in the world will sail the seas of Indonesia again. Neptune Regatta is scheduled to take place on 10th-16th February 2013. This activity offers a challenging sailing experience. Neptune Regatta consists of yacht rally, family cruiser yacht, catamaran or motor yacht. The race is designed for luxury and exclusive super yachts to race across the equator.

Nongsa Point Marina

This race will be interesting because the participants are those who are fond of yatch sailing. Participants will sail around the beautiful seas of Indonesia, in the region of Riau Islands province, and then crosses the equator.

The Beauty of Riau

All the action of Neptune Regatta will start and finish at Nongsa Point Marina in Batam (N 11°28'86" E & 104°06'00"). Nongsa Point Resort is the entrance of any ship to Indonesia and just 11 miles from Singapore.

The Sunset

From the starting point the race will turning around clockwise  to the south part of Riau Islands, in the south side of Batam island. In this area, there are volcanoes located in Temiang, Singkep and Lingga. Those are very beautiful mountain peaks. The peaks are visible from a distance. Then participants will go to Buaya Island (N 0°10'5"E & 104°13' 5"), which has a protected Harbour and beach by white coral.
